About You

I am passionate about supporting queer and trans folks anywhere in the LGBTQIA+ galaxies. At the same time, you do not have to identify as LGBTQIA+ to work with me nor do you need to be “queer enough” or “trans enough”. My work is for anyone who longs for a safer compassionate space in which to connect to themselves and more deeply while finding greater ease in their body and personal power around the things that matter to them. I work with individuals, partners and organizations.

About Events

The events I organise or participate in attempt to meet the needs of varying communities within the broader LGBTQIA+ label. Some are open for all LGBTQIA+ folks while others may focus more specifically on communities with which my own identity or that of my collaborators overlaps - for example activists, non-binary folks, queer masculinities, etc.

Some of these events will include optional nudity or sexual exploration. This will be clearly specified in the practicalities section.

About the Studio

The studio is affectionately named The Oasis, a center for embodied wellness. As part of our protective COVID measures, the studio has been equipped with an air filtration system to provide fresh clean air for our group events.

The Oasis is located in Haarlem-Noord close to Marsmanplein and Het Schoterbos and easily accessible by public transportation. Shower facilities are available.

About Wellbeing

Wellbeing means different things to different people. In popular culture it can be vague and fluffy, individualistic, and disconnected from the awareness of social and systemic realities.

Wellbeing has an individual and collective aspect to it. Research also shows a number of elements that are helpful to overall wellbeing. The ability to find comfort and navigate discomfort in your body, to experience connection, rest, pleasure, meaning and a sense of agency around your goals are important aspects of wellbeing.

Through Queer Somatics, I aim to offer a range of events and services designed to support LGBTQIA+ folks with varying aspects of wellbeing with a focus on embodiment, erotic wellbeing and health topics.

About Ethics

I try to approach my work from an intersectional and trauma aware perspective prioritising embodied consent and client choice. As a certified somatic sex coach and sexological bodyworker, I am a member of the Association of Certified Sexological Bodyworkers and when practicing sexological bodywork, I adhere to the code of ethics here. In my capacity as a yoga therapist, I am a member of the IAYT and when practicing yoga therapy, I adhere to the IAYT code of ethics.
